Educational and Professional Background

Trevor is a licensed mental health and substance use counselor who has been working in Whatcom County since 2010. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and his Master’s degree in child, couple and family counseling from Antioch University, Seattle. He began working for Catholic community services in Everett, WA as a Co-Occurring Disorder counselor then moved to Bellingham to take a position as a Behavioral Health Specialist in the Whatcom County Juvenile Detention Center. He transitioned into Sehome High School as an Intervention and Prevention Specialist in 2015, also beginning his private practice providing services to adolescents and their families.

Treatment Philosophy

Trevor’s therapeutic approach is focused primarily in Cognitive Behavioral, Strength-Based and Systemic perspectives; taking the view that our lives are comprised of many parts and the relationship of those parts plays a large role in our personal and relational health. He takes the stance that each person will do the very best with the resources they have, and when additional support or services are needed, they serve to enhance, develop and add to the strengths already present. The fundamental principal of his work is that we feel, think and behave. Change in the interaction between those core humanistic traits provides opportunity and accessibility in removing barriers to happiness and contentment.

Trevor understands that each and every case is unique and requires an individualized approach, however, he always strives to collaborate with as many members of a family as possible as a way to provide the most helpful, comprehensive and ethical services he can.

Trevor’s office is in the Core Kinetics Wellness Clinic. From I-5 heading South, take Exit 254 onto Ohio St. Take a Left onto James St, followed by a Right onto Meador Ave which becomes Lincoln St once you pass underneath the freeway. Take a Left onto Fraser St, pass Inside Pitch and look for building F on the East end of the business park. From I-5 North, take Exit 253 for Lakeway Dr. Continue Straight onto Potter St. then Left onto Lincoln St. Take a Right onto Fraser St, pass Inside Pitch and look for building F on the East end of the business park.
