
Educational and Professional Background:
Debra Young is a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 1987. Her career within the Mental Health System ultimately led to a three year position as a Clinical Supervisor for a Mental Health Agency in Alaska. She returned to direct service care and opened a part time private practice in Bellingham in 2007, while also working as a Research Associate for Western Washington University. She is currently full-time in her private practice. In addition to her Masters degree, Debra is an EMDR Provider and is certified in Hypnotherapy.

With understanding and genuine caring, Debra provides a safe and confidential environment to support you through the process of self-discovery, healing and change. She is client centered in her approach and tailors the counseling process to the individual client, while drawing on her skills in solution focused, insight oriented therapy & cognitive behavioral approaches, as well as EMDR for trauma resolution and Hypnosis for supporting life change and enhancing performance.
