Educational and Professional Background:
Mark Tucker has worked at Interfaith Community Health Clinic, providing comprehensive care by working with Primary Care Providers and Psychiatrists. Mark is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has worked as a counselor since he received his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University in 2007. In 2005 he received his B.S. in Psychology, also from Western Washington University.
Treatment Philosophy:
Mark uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focus, and Motivational Interviewing. He would be happy to discuss the difference between these and other approaches. Mark has also received training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP). SP uses mindfulness to unfold how we engage ourselves and others. Mark works to integrate our body, emotions, and thoughts while processing the past or examining the present in new, and more effective ways.
Regardless of approach, Mark always works collaboratively with the client in a supportive atmosphere. “By working together, we create a safe environment to promote change. I may suggest or encourage direction; you decide what path you want to explore.” Mark believes that each person has within themselves the wisdom to find needed change. He will strive to provide the right tools and skills to assist in reaching the client’s goals.

Previously Mark has worked as an American Sign Language Interpreter and is knowledgeable in Deaf Culture and ASL. He welcomes members of the Deaf community, their families, Hard of Hearing and individuals that have hearing loss due to aging.
