Educational and Professional Background:

Tara Platz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Washington University in 2002 and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Western Washington University in 2005. Since receiving her MEd, Tara has worked in a variety of agency settings providing direct mental health services to children, adolescents, young adults and their families. In 2011, Tara began specializing in anxiety disorders and received ongoing clinical supervision from the Director of theĀ Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle, Dr. Stacy Shaw Welch. Tara continues to explore post-graduate training in several areas including tics, trichotillomania and gender identity.

Areas of Specialty:

Tara enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment in which individuals are motivated to achieve their identified goals. Her overarching theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy, though she employs a multitude of techniques to assist clients with:
