John Siegfried

Educational and Professional Background:

John Siegfried received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1980 from Western Washington University and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 1982. He has worked in the mental health field since 1974 in a variety of clinical settings and in private practice of psychotherapy since 1983. He regularly attends post-graduate training, workshops, and group consultations. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Areas of Special Interest:

John has a special interest in couple relationship problems. He delights in working with couples because he can appreciate how each person in the relationship is really just striving to be cared about but is probably showing it in some self defeating way. As couples open up in therapy, tenderness replaces fear and hostility.
