Educational and Professional Background:
Tara Platz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Washington University in 2002 and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Western Washington University in 2005. Since receiving her MEd, Tara has worked in a variety of agency settings providing direct mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. In 2011, Tara began specializing in anxiety and OCD and received clinical supervision from the Director of the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle, Dr Stacy Shaw Welch. Tara continues to explore postgraduate training in several areas including acceptance and commitment therapy, behavioral activation and mindfulness.

Tara enjoys working with adults and adolescents. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment in which individuals are motivated to achieve their identified goals. Her overarching theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (including exposure and response prevention and habit reversal training), though she employs a multitude of techniques to assist clients with:
